Star Clippers cruise article is NATJA awards Finalist

2015 NATJA Awards - Finalist Seal“Stow Away,” my article on a Star Clippers Mediterranean cruise, published in the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, received Finalist honors in the 2015 Awards Competition of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA). The category was Special Focus Travel Articles – Print: Cruises.

The cruise departed from Mallorca, one of the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain, and included port stops in Menorca, Corsica, and St. Tropez, ending in Monaco. Read the article here:  StowAway-StarClippersMed_PDF

  1. I am not a big fan of cruises, but this one sounds way out of the ordinary. Like you say, being on a smaller boat makes all the difference. I’ve never been on a cruise on the Mediterranean, but reading about your experience makes me want to try it too. I wonder how expensive this is, usually smaller boats cost way more then the regular cruise lines.

    • This itinerary was wonderful, Anda, but unfortunately they aren’t doing this exact itinerary this year. Similar ones are, though, and they are often on sale…right now starting at $1620/pp for 7 nts. I’ve sailed on Star Clippers for a Caribbean cruise as well and really enjoyed it. You’ll have to give it a try! Small ships are, to me, the best way to go…
